OPTION SYMBOLS: HWP/2HWP14/2HWP23

***UPDATE***

The Options Clearing Corporation ("OCC") has been advised by The Chicago Board Options Exchange ("CBOE"), The American Stock Exchange ("AMEX"), The Philadelphia Stock Exchange ("PHLX"), The Pacific Exchange ("PCX"), and The International Securities Exchange ("ISE") that Hewlett-Packard Company ("HWP") will change its trading and option symbol to HPQ upon completion of the merger between Hewlett-Packard Company and Compaq Computer Corporation. This change will be effective at the opening of business on Monday, May 6, 2002. FLEX symbols will change from 2HWP14 to 2HPQ14 and from 2HWP23 to 2HPQ23. Strike prices and all other option terms will not change. The Wrap symbol "HHY" will remain unchanged. LEAPS symbols will also remain unchanged.

Clearing Member input to OCC must use the new option symbol HPQ and the new FLEX symbols 2HPQ14/2HPQ23 commencing on May 6, 2002.
