OCC, the world's largest equity derivatives clearing organization, announced today that total cleared contract volume in October reached 451,300,066 contracts, a 20.5 percent decrease compared to last October. OCC's year-to-date average daily cleared contract volume is 19,728,721, down 4.7 percent compared to 2018's record-breaking pace.

New OCC Study: Listed Index and ETF Option Overlays May Improve Endowment Performance

This was down 11.9 percent compared to last January. OCC's year-to-date average daily contract volume is 20,124,330 contracts, 3.6 percent lower than 2018's record-breaking average of 20,884,820 contracts a day.

OCC Clears Record-Setting 5.24 Billion Total Contracts in 2018
OCC, the world's largest equity derivatives clearing organization, announced today that it set new annual cleared contract volume records for the U.S. exchange-listed options and futures industry. In 2018, OCC cleared 5.24 billion total contracts and 5.14 billion options contracts. These numbers surpass the previous records, set in 2011, of 4.60 billion total contracts and 4.56 billion options contracts. Compared to 2017, OCC had a 21.1 percent increase in total contracts cleared and a 22.6 percent increase in options contracts cleared.
