Associate Principal, Technology Business Management

What You'll Do:

This role is accountable for driving the IT Intake Process. This role provides oversight of the IT intake process and partners directly with PMO to respond to enterprise requests.   This role will drive operational success and continuous improvement around the development of an IT intake process used for prioritization.  This role requires advanced experience in project portfolio management, project life cycle, process creation and refinement, and estimation/scenario planning. This role requires previous experience in technology portfolio management and prioritization, and budget planning

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily.

  • Drive efforts to oversee the intake process across several teams within IT which includes solution architects, development team leads, business analysts, and executive leaders. 

  • Manage the IT workflow to ensure each phase is complete and SLA’s are met

  • Collaborate PMO, Solution architects and requesters to ensure requested information is clear and meets the standard requirements

  • Work directly with resource and portfolio managers to gather estimates and ensure proper tradeoffs are outlined for approval

  • Prepare intake response outlining options and recommendations and partnering with PMO to provide to decision makers

  • Partner with PMO to manage the pipeline of projects and ensure response time is timely and IT deliverables are completed

  • Participate in and lead discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.

  • Drive a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised and resolved.

  • Continually improve the intake process and partner with PMO to define and execute on process improvements

  • Drive regular status updates and communications on the intake process

  • Manage the JIRA dashboard for the overall workflow and monitors intake performance reporting on trends, intake throughput, SLA’s, gaps, resource constraints to drive for continuous improvement.

  • Works directly with PMO and PPM in support of the annual budget planning process

  • Develop weekly intake status summaries to report on progress of active initiatives

  • [Required] Experience consolidating data from multiple data sources

Technical Skills:

  • [Required] Experience JIRA, Sharepoint and Portfolio Estimation tools

  • [Required] Proven ability to work with toolsets including, but not limited to Jira, MS Project, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • [Required] Basic understanding of Software Development Lifecycle

  • [Required] Familiarity with Tableau or PowerBI

Education and/or Experience:

  • [Required] Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 7 years equivalent work experience

  • [Required] Experience in Project Intake, Prioritization, and portfolio Management

  • [Required] Ability to anticipate issues based on experience to help the team avoid or resolve the issues

  • [Preferred] Knowledge of Agile/Scrum principles and practices

Certificates or Licenses:

  • [Preferred] PMP certified preferred
