Principal, Enterprise Architecture

What You'll Do:

We are looking to fill in a highly strategic role responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting AWS cloud governance and cost management practices. The individual will closely partner with key stakeholders across the enterprise to develop and execute cloud cost optimization strategies which should align with the enterprise security, compliance, and business goals.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily.

  • You will lead, develop, and execute the processes and capabilities required to ensure costs optimization.

  • Develop and implement cloud architecture models based on AWS Well Architected Framework.

  • Track and report KPIs and trend analysis relating to AWS cloud consumption, capacity management, and chargeback.

  • Transform the raw costing data into meaningful data-driven spending decisions characterized by strong cloud governance and cloud data integrity.

  • Design and develop data-driven analytics and executive reporting to enable cross-functional conversations at OCC about cloud architecture and relevant challenges.

  • Observe meaningful trends in data sets, perform analysis to help translate raw data into actionable recommendations including, but not limited to, automation, shared costs, and forecasting.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Security, Compliance, and Legal, to develop and implement cloud governance strategies.

  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, IT leaders, and external partners to understand their requirements, address their concerns, and provide guidance on cloud governance.

  • Stay abreast of the emerging trends and best practices in cloud governance, assess their relevance to our organization, and recommend necessary changes to the policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with public cloud architecture, cloud strategy, networking, security, compliance workload types, migration patterns and tools

  • At least 5 years’ experience in AWS public cloud.

  • Strong understanding of cloud cost efficiencies, capacity management that help drive architectural and business decisions.

  • Ability to investigate data to explain outliers, anomalies, and optimizations to rationalize the cloud spend.

  • Experience in cloud design optimizations including rightsizing, reserving instances, and automated tagging.

  • Skilled communicator who can easily understand and translate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

Technical Skills:

  • Cloud FinOps

  • Experience with public cloud architecture, cloud strategy, networking, security, compliance workload types, migration patterns and tools

  • At least 5 years’ experience in AWS public cloud.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years’ experience leading complex Engineering and Architecture initiatives.

Certificates or Licenses:

  • AWS Solutions Architect Associate (Required), AWS Solutions Architect Professional (Preferred), Cloud FinOps
