Duties:

Conduct application design and development of big data applications for business requirements in agreed upon architecture framework and Agile environment. Lead and participate in requirement analysis and reviews to identify missing or incomplete requirements. Identify and validate assumptions made in models. Design highly performing, scalable, secure, reliable, and cost optimized solutions. Thoroughly analyze requirements, develop, test, and document software quality to ensure proper implementation. Perform thorough code-review based on high engineering standards. Write unit and integration tests based on chosen DevOps frameworks. Perform application and project risk analysis. Use Kafka and ActiveMQ message brokers to develop systems with high throughput, low latency and processing guarantees. Use Java 8 and unit and integration testing frameworks such as Junit and Citrus to carry out Test Driven Development (TDD). Use monitoring tools and frameworks like Splunk, Elasticsearch, AppDynamics and Prometheus to setup dashboards, identify application bottlenecks and implement improvements to deliver low latency and high throughput applications. Use DevOps tools like Jenkins, Kubernetes, Helm, CI/CD pipeline and Git workflows for application development and deployment. *This position qualifies for The Options Clearing Corporation’s Employee Referral Program.*

Education & Experience Required:

Bachelor’s degree in  CS, computer engineering or related and five (5) years of software development experience.

Special Skills Required:

Must have work experience with each of the following: 1. Use Kafka and ActiveMQ message brokers to develop systems with high throughput, low latency and processing guarantees; 2. Use Java 8 and unit and integration testing frameworks such as Junit and Citrus to carry out Test Driven Development (TDD); 3. Use monitoring tools and frameworks like Splunk, Elasticsearch, AppDynamics and Prometheus to setup dashboards, identify application bottlenecks and implement improvements to deliver low latency and high throughput applications; and 4. Use DevOps tools like Jenkins, Kubernetes, Helm, CI/CD pipeline and Git workflows for application development and deployment.

Salary

$154,500-$175,100
