Associate Principal, Software Engineering: Java

What You'll Do

Associate Principal, Software Engineering, with Java development skills will be responsible for the development and delivery of test automation applications for cloud-native event driven clearing, risk management and data platform applications. The candidate must be able to solve problems creatively, communicate effectively, and proactively engage in technical decision making to achieve these objectives.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily.

  • Actively participates and leads requirement collection, analysis and reviews to identify missing or incomplete requirements.

  • Must always look for assumptions made in the models and must always validate those assumptions of the models.

  • Actively participates in design of highly performing, scalable, secure, reliable, and cost optimized solutions.

  • Primarily responsibility is test automation application design and development for next gen clearing applications in agreed architecture framework and Agile environment

  • Thoroughly analyzes requirements, develops, tests, and documents software quality to ensure proper implementation.

  • Follows agreed upon SDLC procedures to ensure that all information system products and services met, both explicit and implicit quality standards, architectural standards, performance requirements, security rules are upheld.

  • Performs thorough code-reviews based on high engineering standards

Qualifications:

  • 8+ year of experience in building large scale, compute, and event-driven solutions.

  • Experience (including internal workings of Java) in Java 8+ is required.

  • Experience developing software using Object Oriented Designs, advance patterns (like AOP) and multi-threading is required.

  • Experience with cloud technologies and migrations. Experience preferred with AWS foundational services like VPCs, EC2, S3 and IAM etc.

  • Experience with high-speed distributed computing frameworks involving MapReduce techniques like Apache Spark, Kafka Streams, Apache Flink etc. is a plus.

  • ‘Get stuff done’ and flexible mindset for greater good of the organization.

  • Intellectually curious and eager to learn.

Technical Skills:

  • Experience of working with Spring Java applications for Kubernetes & AWS environment

  • Experience with RESTful APIs

  • Experience in defining the requirements and developing test automation tools

  • Experience of working with messaging & integration systems such Apache ActiveMQ, Apache Camel & Apache Kafka

  • Experience working with various types of databases like Relational, NoSQL, Object-based

  • Experience following Git workflows and build automation process 

  • Working knowledge of DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Kubernetes, Helm and CI/CD pipeline etc.

  • Familiarity with monitoring related tools and frameworks like Splunk, Elastic Search, Prometheus etc.

Education and/or Experience:

  • BS degree in Computer Science, similar technical field required. Masters preferred.

Certificates or Licenses:

  • OCP Java SE 8 Programmer Certification is a plus

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate Level is a plus
