  • We are building a culture that empowers continued learning, authentic innovation, and constant creativity.  We are looking for an individual who is experienced with AGILE project management techniques, has worked with and truly understands process and processes.
  • Deep understanding of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques, and the ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical (hardware, software, application or operational) problems. Develop solutions to complex technical challenges while coding, testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and documenting the systems you develop.
  • Optimizing application performance through analysis, code refactoring, and system tuning.
  • Recommending technologies and tools that improve the efficiency and quality of OCC’s systems and development processes.

You will be working alongside experts that are building OCC’s next generation blockchain-based Securities Lending system, and paving the future of digital transformation in the capital markets industry by:

  • Collaborating with others to deliver complex projects which may involve multiple systems.
  • Continuously thinking about the next steps while improving yourself and others around you.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily.

  • Work in a collaborative environment with vendor developers to understand and code the requirements
  • Actively participate in daily standups, code reviews, grooming sessions, and design sessions
  • Work with platform team to stabilize the QA environments
  • Write detailed documentation of work and tasks
  • Help the testing team achieve their goals in each sprint
  • Work with Internal OCC teams to help achieve the best solution
  • Participate in mentoring sessions as and mentoring junior developers

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Will be limited to assigned task code delivery and guidance given to junior developers as and when required.

  • 2+ years of Functional-based software development experience (Scala).
  • 1+ years of DevOps and CICD experience.
  • 1+ years of experience with front end technologies (React JS)
  • Experience with NoSQL DBs (Splunk/Elastic) and Postgres.
  • Experience with Message brokers or Queues
  • Experience or knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform
  • 3+ years of application delivery methodologies, including the ability to utilize these in order to deliver new or enhanced applications.
  • 3+ years of application design activities, tools and techniques; ability to utilize these to convert business requirements and logical models into a technical application design.
  • Packaged application integration experience preferred, including knowledge of and the ability to implement packaged application software and integrate it with technology platforms.

Technical Skills:

  • Web application development experience preferred.
  • Experience working with two or more of the following: Unix/Linux environments, event-driven systems, transaction processing systems, distributed and parallel systems, large software system development, security software development, public-cloud platforms.
  • Fluent in functional programming, object-oriented design, industry best practices, software patterns, and architecture principles.
  • Strong testing experience which includes developing test plans, automated test cases, and working with test frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of performance issues and multi-threaded development.
  • Experience with continuous integration tools and techniques, automating processes, and working with cloud technologies (AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker).

Education and/or Experience:

  • BS degree in Computer Science, similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
