Jake Middleton

Chief Security Officer

Mr. Middleton serves as Chief Security Officer at OCC, the world's largest equity derivatives clearing organization. 

In this role, Mr. Middleton is responsible for Cyber Operations, Security Governance, Security Business Operations, Security Engineering & Technology Integration, and the Security Red Team. 

Mr. Middleton brings more than two decades of experience protecting critical financial infrastructure, all with the Federal Reserve. Most recently, he served as Vice President and Head of Product and Platform Security for Federal Reserve Financial Services, where he led security architecture for the Federal Reserve's national payment, clearing, and settlement services. 

Previously, Mr. Middleton served as Vice President and Information Security Officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago from 2014 to 2022, the Bank's senior Information Security executive. In that role, he had accountability for security operations, security engineering, incident response, and cyber risk management. He regularly reported to the Bank's board-level risk committee.  He joined the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago in 2004 as a senior information security engineer and later led the Bank's security engineering team.

Mr. Middleton received a bachelor's degree in Information Security from DePaul University and received CISSP ®, CRISC ®, and CISA® certifications.
