What is the Renaissance Initiative?

Through the Renaissance Initiative, OCC will create a robust infrastructure for its members and market participants by utilizing more modular technology and enhancing its use of real-time data.

When complete, the Renaissance Initiative will streamline our operational framework, enhance our risk tools and establish a more robust data management system to better serve our market participants. As we have communicated previously, we also intend to expand our use of cloud technology to support our new platform implementation, subject to regulatory approval.

In the third quarter of 2022, we plan to release our technical specifications as well as layouts. We also plan to release a new functionality for our What-If Margining Simulation, offering an API-based approach to submitting a portfolio of positions before the launch of our new platform. And, throughout the second quarter of 2023 and into the first quarter of 2024, numerous opportunities for testing will be made available to ensure preparedness for go-live.
